This is an Hermes bone china oval platter in the pattern Le Jardin des Papillons, 15.5" long. It was originally produced in 1993. It comes from a fine home in New York City. This is a rarely encountered piece from Hermes.

The design is reminiscent of an Hermes scarf. The updated modern Chinoiserie pattern features a long blue pagoda like structure overlooking water and plants with butterflies in the air. There is a bamboo like cartouche in pink across the center. The exquisite border features the butterflies and bamboo motifs. Marked Hermes in a couple of places on the border and the back of platter. No box.

Background color is bright white, although it may have a yellowish cast in some of photos.

It is in excellent used condition, no chips, cracks or crazing. There are a couple of light scratches, not particularly pronounced. No loss to colors; reflection in photo makes it appear there is a streak on center left near edge, but it's in excellent condition.

I have two identical platters, both in the same excellent condition. Price is for each platter.
