Quite a wonderful set of Bookends. They depict sitting German Shepard’s just waiting for their master’s command. Or maybe sitting pretty for a treat. They are heavy, 2 1/4 pounds each. They measure 5 3/4” tall by 3 1/8 “wide by 5 1/4” long. They are sitting on a piece of marble. The condition of the dogs are great. There are just a couple very minor nicks to marble but hardly noticeable because of the color. Inscribed on the tale of both is BAL. Enrique Molins Balleste (Spanish/Worked in France 1893 - 1958) This artist was born in Barcelona, Spain in 1893. He moved to Paris and is known for his lighting figural work. He was also a wood sculptor. He signed his work "Molins", "Balleste" or "BAL" or "GUAL" which was part of his wife's name "Concepcion Gual-Cuberes". They are waiting to be adopted into a loving home.
