Massive iron padlock with key from Danish Prison, 18th. century! - image 1 of 7

A very interesting and quite rare massive padlock, dating back in the 18th. century.

The Lock comes from the old 'Horsens Tugthus' - a criminal institution / prison. It's a massive construction in iron with a large bow and hidden keyhole.

Size: 15,4 cm. tall (when locked) and 10,8 cm. wide. It comes with the original key, 8,5 cm. long.

Provenance: Danish Private collection of Grethe Pedersen, Ledøje, Denmark, (c.1950-1997). Purchased at Ole Jensen, Antique Dealer, 1967.
