1890 Matted French Chromolithograph-Woman with Parasol at Beach - image 1 of 3

This is a matted cover art chromolithograph from a French literary magazine, Figaro Illustré, that dates to 1890. This is a RARE find! Magazine cover art is desirable and highly collectible. It has become increasingly more difficult to find in good condition with the passage of time as it is highly susceptible to tears, stains, folds, etc. This image is a beauty. It is a 130+ year old chromolithograph that is in pristine condition. It features a young woman with her parasol sitting on the beach in the latest of chic period fashion. See the details of her hat, gloves, etc. The rich soft color hues create a warmth and painterly quality in the chromolithograph. Note the elaborate patterning that frames the oval format center image. The oval gold edging is done in metallic ink which is characteristic of this period. Chromolithography was the printing technique used at the time. Its clarity has not diminished with time and it is what makes this image so special. This is perfect wall decor especially for a beach house. 11.75 x 16 inches in size. It is in pristine condition. It comes custom matted in a neutral tone 16 x 20 inch custom mat which works perfectly in a standard size frame. Please allow time for custom matting. See companion images in our
