Of asymmetric scrolling form, one surmounted by the cast figure of a cymbal-playing putto, the other with fellow putto musician playing a flute. Date : 1850 c. Quite elaborate scroll work and nice detail on the cherub's hair, face, form, and layers of clothing. Both pieces are stamped Bouhon Fréres.
These excellent fine firedogs by the celebrated Parisian Bronzeurs Bouhon are directly inspired by mid-18th century French designs.
