Stan Sparre Miniature Carving of a Gull
This is an exquisite miniature carving in wood of a gull that is mounted on driftwood. The gull was created by master carver Stan Sparre (1923-2011) of Cape Cod. The gull stands about 2 ½” tall not counting the driftwood base. The overall dimensions of the driftwood base are 8” long by 6” tall. The carving is exquisite and very detailed. The carving and painting is in excellent with the exception of a repair to a broken right wing and loss of two tips of feathers. It is signed on the bottom of the driftwood.
