Vintage 18” Wood and Painted Carved Eagle
This vintage carved wooden eagle was found as is on the workshop wall of a house in New Bedford, MA. The eagle is carved and painted. It is 18” x 9” and is 1 ½” thick at the shield. It is in good “folksy” condition and shows some possible repainting. On the back is a carved “53” or possibly “63” plus some carved initials, possibly N K L. It has been cleaned up from the dust and grime of the workshop. It would look a little brighter with a polishing of Butcher’s Wax.
