Hand Carved & Painted Cardinal – Signed Monk
This hand carved and painted Cardinal is attributed to noted Whitman, MA carver Harry Monk (1916-2010). It was in a collection of birds and decoys that were mostly signed by Monk. The bird is 5 1/2” in length, 4 1/4” tall and 1 ½” wide. The driftwood base is roughly 3” x 3 ½”. The bird is appears to have been re-glued to the base (picture 8). It has glass eyes and is in good condition with nice coloring and features.
