Here we have an superb original ancient Chinese Tang Dynasty Stoneware Ceramic Sancai Glazed Statue of a Courtier dating from 618 to 907 AD.
This exceptional ancient statue is intact without repair. Consistent with the authenticity of the piece the glaze shows age appropriate alteration. There is some loss towards the base afront of one foot and to the rim of the base. Across the whole we see come crackle to the beautiful ancient glaze commensurate with age and some delicate surface iridescence most easily seen towards the base.
She is beautiful indeed with flowing robes, her form lovely and with extraordinary elegance and presence.
This statue is a beautiful size for display standing approximately 9 13/16" tall by 9 9/16" wide by 2 3/4" deep (25cm x 9cm x 7cm).
Please note this statue is a genuine period artifact. As such there is age commensurate alteration to the glaze. The interior of the statue consistent with burial for such a time. She presents beautifully and would make a superb acquisition to any collection of important ancient art.
