An early nineteenth century blue and white Spode tree and well transfer printed platter showing a scene from the Aesop's Fables story "The Horse and the Loaded Ass". Circa 1828. It is printed on the underside with a cartouche showing the maker's name and the name of the scene. It measures approximately 21" long by 16.5 " wide. It is nice and bright and in good overall condition except for two chips to the back foot.
