For sale is a charming and naive antique folk art watercolor painting of a seated young girl holding her doll, along with 2 hens, a rooster, and a very large egg. I acquired the painting from a sale in Ohio, and it is housed in what I believe is the original gold gilt frame. On the back in the upper left corner, its says that the piece was painted in 1883. The framed painting measures about 11 3/4" x 9", with sight measurements of 9 3/4" x 7". It is in nice antique condition, with a few tiny spots and minor rippling on the painting, and age appropriate wear on the frame. The paper backing is a new replacement that has been cut so that the information about its age can still be seen. Please look carefully at the pictures as they are an important part of the description, and be sure to ask any questions. What a sweet addition to your cottage primitive decor!
