For sale is a fabulous antique 19th century primitive handmade folk art mortar and pestle holder that I acquired from a seller in Florida. I was told that it dated to the early 19th century ca. 1820-1840, but I'm not sure, although it is definitely from sometime in the 19th century. It is made of pine, and still retains its bright green paint. The piece measures about 13 1/2" tall, 5 1/4" wide, and 3 1/2" deep, and is in very nice antique condition, with an aged patina including rust and oxidation, as well as a couple of very tight cracks that don't affect its integrity. Please look carefully at the pictures as they are an important part of the description, and be sure to ask any questions. What a unique addition to your primitive farm kitchen that would be a great way to display your favorite mortar and pestle!
