For sale is a great antique, probably early 1900's handmade folk art penny rug that I found in Ohio. I believe that it was probably made either in Ohio or Pennsylvania, and it has quite a modern look. It is completely hand sewn and hand embroidered in 2 sizes of "pennies", and I believe the backing is rather thick homespun linen. The rug measures about 36 1/2" x 19", and is in nice antique condition, with no noticeable issues on the front. The backing does have gray staining throughout, but it doesn't show on the front, and doesn't affect the piece's appeal. Please look carefully at the pictures as they are an important part of the description, and be sure to ask any questions. What a great addition to your primitive or even modern decor!
