Very unique wall art of a nude woman with dried fruit (might be a lemon) breasts and a tuft of hair. Set on a painted sketch of a woman on artist paper. Signed in the lower right, 'Albert Escalante, 5/01.' I do see a small tear in the paper from the artist at his name in the lower right. (There is paint in the tear.) I also see a scratch on the black mat but is not noticeable unless looking for it. The art measures 8-1/2 inches wide and 12-1/2 inches tall. In its original frame that measures 16-1/2 inches wide and 20-1/2 inches tall. Frame has light wear at sharp corners. On the verso it is signed again by the artist, 'Albert Escalante, 5/01' with his monogram.
Albert Escalante is known for his unique and strange sculptures and wall murals. Some people call his work ugly and disgusting but others can see something in them. Born in California, raised in Yuma, Arizona. He studied studio arts at the University of Arizona, where he received a BFA.
