This great vintage 1940's red Bakelite handled Peerless ice cream scoop was a nice North Texas estate sale find. I did the field rub test and got that distinct chemical smell when I rubbed that indicates Bakelite.The Bakelite is a rich cherry red and it is ridged for a better grip. It is signed Peerless on the finger guard. The mechanical scoop has a flat rod that ejects the ice cream when the lever is pressed. It has excellent mechanical operation with smooth thumb deployed gear drive with strong spring return. It measures 8.5" long and the scoop has a diameter of 2.25".

This scoop is in excellent vintage condition, with no damage and minimal age appropriate war. Please view the photo's for the best detail.
