A tall lozenge medallion with slightly concave edges is decorated with forked volutes and suspends escutcheon pendants, all on the coral red field with volute and meandering, flowering tendrils. Navy corners with more, and more powerful volute stems. Navy border with nested rough palmettes, forked acanthus leaves and floret sprays. Well-woven, leathery texture, cotton foundation. Village works from western Persia. Good condition.
