A lovely antique bangle, featuring pretty pink synthetic rubies combined with seed pearls, dating back to early 20th century - circa 1900-1910's. The main focal point is the flower cluster combining a central synthetic ruby which is surrounded with seed pearls, a further two rubies and two seed pearls adorn either side of cluster. The flower cluster is mobile and similar to that of the 'en tremblant' jewels (French, meaning to tremble) which first were produced in the 18th century. The flower cluster displays a subtle movement when contact is made, it does not spin. A lovely triple rail design makes up the entire bangle, it is oval in wrist shape and slightly tapers to a wider top section, narrowing down at base. The hinged bangle fastens with a push clasp at the side, and a safety chain provides additional security.
The bangle has a stamp placed to the tongue connection, it is difficult to decipher but appears to be letter '1' in a cartouche, remainder is worn away. An XRF test indicates 14K gold. The gold is the beautiful soft rose gold colour with a yellow hint, it looks lovely against the skin and can be mixed and matched with either rose or yellow gold
