HERE’S A POSSIBLY ARTIST-SIGNED ORIGINAL VINTAGE MODERN HAND-THROWN AND MANIPULATED WOOD-FIRED STUDIO ART POTTERY / PORCELAIN BOWL THAT DISPLAYS AN OVERSIZED TEABOWL / CHAWAN / YUNOMI FORM WITH AN ORANGE SHINO GLAZE INTERIOR AND GRAY WOOD ASH EXTERIOR!
Please Note: While seemingly unsigned, this original vintage studio art pottery bowl does have three possible artist markings. There are two (2) seemingly impressed markings on the bowl’s interior top area within the orange shino glaze (see photo #3). However, both of these impressed markings are nonsensical and may simply be inconsequential markings. There is a third impressed marking located on the exterior side of the bowl within one of the manipulated folds that appears to be a large letter “S” (see the right-hand side of photo #11). But again, this may simply be a marking that is neither here nor there.
Dimensions: The bowl measures approximately four and one quarter inches (4 1/4”) in height at its highest point, four and five eighths inches (4 5/8”) across the top opening at its widest point, two and one half inches (2 1/2”) in diameter across the base, by six inches across the body of the body at its widest point.
The artist who created this bowl used a high-fired porcelain or white stoneware to create a hand-thrown bowl form on the potter’s wheel and then manipulated the bowl’s form to have side folds.
Condition: Excellent and clean condition – absolutely beautiful!
