Originating in Paris in 1887 by Jacques Hobe, the Hobe jewelry company has an outstanding reputation for fine costume pieces. Jacques' son, William, is credited with bringing the brand to the United States and being a master craftsman himself. A serious student of period design, William was able to translate historical designs to modern settings and also created many set designs for motion pictures. The company closed in 1995.
