Grosse was a producer of Dior jewelry in the 1950s and 60s. Founded in 1907 by Heinrich Henkel and Florentin Grosse. They have always been known for their high quality and great design. In 1955 Henkel & Grosse started its partnership with Christian Dior (1905-57) in Paris and were licensed as the producers and distributors of Dior jewelry. Regarding its own designs, however, the company always maintained its independence. As of the 1960s, they expanded their portfolio to include Grosse Bijoux, Grosse Sterling and Grosse Gold, with fashion always dictating the design. Besides its affiliation with Dior, this firm became one of the major haute couture designers/manufacturers for other high-end names as well - such as Schiaparelli, Lanvin, and Givenchy. After 4 generations as the Grosse family business, in 2006, Christian Dior Couture SA of France acquired Henkel & Grosse.
