This large, hinged box features what appears to be a romancing couple seated on a bench in front of a backdrop of a fence and peaked roof house. The borders features handpainted goldleaf scrolls. Fancy scrolls on the sides of the box as well.
It is in excellent condition.
The painting is wonderful. The artist's signature is on lower right (see closeup) in Cyrllic. I believe this is from the legend known as "Leah's Song". The original price tag is on the back side and indicates $495.00. The box measures 5 1/4" square. it is 2" high.
