This quilt is an estate piece. The owners purchased this Amish quilt some 30 years ago on a trip to Pennsylvania, according to the heirs. It has never been washed and is in pristine condition. Its fabrics are cotton blends, completely washable. The design is a lovely, graphic, overall design, probably an original creation. Elements of other patterns such as Dresden Plate and Irish Chain have been combined to form this wonderful new design. The fabrics used are blues, grays, and a bit of white. The quilt is very soothing and inviting, as a coverlet should be. The quilt is quite large, measuring 92" X 108," and will fit a king size bed. Different quilting designs decorate the solid areas of the quilt, with lots of hearts and a Pennsylvania Dutch motif or two. Quilting is expert, 8 stitches per inch, and in blue thread. The quilt is puffy and very warm.
