This mid-century quilt has a stylized "Poppy" design and bright colors of green and pink. The poppies could be water lilies, but this is a traditional design. The bright flowers have buttonhole stitching enhancing them; the leaves also have chain-stitched embroidery. The applique work is excellent. The hand quilting is nicely done with a feather wreath in the center and half-wreaths along the pink frame. The quilting is at 8 stitches per inch. The fabrics are 100% cotton. This quilt is in excellent original condition and does not seem to have been used. It is a twin to full size measuring 70" X 90." This quilt originated in Ohio and dates from around 1930-1960.
