This star quilt looks like a sunburst on the bed. The color choices give it a radiant quality not seen in every star quilt. The quilt dates from between 1930 and 1960. Colors used are those popular during the Depression Era, i.e. the hot pink. It is 100% cotton and is machine washable. It may be dried in the dryer. The quilt is soft from many washings but has no stains, holes, or discernible wear. The only condition issue is slight fading of the hot pink border on one edge. This quilt was machine pieced, probably using the Seminole patchwork technique. It has been hand-quilted at 6-7 stitches per inch. The white areas have pretty designs quilted in them. The quilt was photographed on a full-sized bed; it measures 80" X 84" and will work on a queen size bed as well as a full. Brighten up your bedroom with this one.
