Sacajawea was an important part of American history. She accompanied Lewis and Clark as their interpreter, and on several occasions she saved their lives by simply being there with her child. Her baby was an infant who she carried in a cradleboard on her back. Indians perceived a woman with a party of men as a token of peace, Her entire life story is fascinating, and well worth your researching it.
