OVERVIEW: Here’s a vintage pair of sterling earrings by Salvador Teran of Mexico City. These are designed as stylized Aztec eagles. They are made in 3 parts--the head, the neck, and a pair of spherical drops. The neck and drops hang from a post and swing freely. These have their original screwback findings. The earrings have a stunning design & terrific movement when worn.
MARKS: although not signed by Salvador, I am confident they are his work due to the design, quality, and markings: STERLING MEXICO, design #129, and the #36 Mexico City eagle mark used by Teran. His earrings were sometimes not signed if they were part of a suite of jewelry.
DIMENSIONS: 2 1/2” long
WEIGHT: 20.90g combined
CONDITION: very good condition with light vintage wear; no damage or repairs; spheres show minor surface marks
