Antique English Cut Crystal .925 Sterling Silver Sugar Shaker Lion Hallmark 1820 Regency Style
This salt cellar was given to me by an English friend who purchased it in the United Kingdom. It is from their antique collection and dates to 1820.
The elongated diamond patterns and beveled cuts of the crystal sugar shaker are elegant. The round sterling silver top has elaborate cut out designs and rim design that is classic. The round top is approx. 2 3/8" in diameter.
In Very Good condition - there is a small chip in one corner (in last 2 photos). Not too obvious to the eye but I can feel it. Sterling silver lid has a lovely patina of age.
On the side of the lid is an image of a lion facing left and and "E". The walking lion is a British quality mark and is the symbol that indicates it is .925 sterling silver and the "E" denotes the year of 1820. The style is Regency.
The sugar shaker measures approx. 5 1/8" in total height. It is approx. 2 1/8" square at the base.
Please look at the photos closely as they are the best description. I have photographed it from all sides and angles.
It will be wrapped well and sent via Priority Mail with insurance and tracking from a smoke-free home.
