This is a wonderful whimsical needle book that contained a variety of needles made by Abel Morrall’s. The needle book measures 2 1/2 x 3/12 inches and is made to look like a story book with an old lady sitting in an arm chair stitching a pillow top on the cover. The book has cardboard cover boards with a clear cover on the front to protect the picture and faux leather on the spine, interior covers and back exterior cover. The back cover has a small ribbon to hold the book closed. The pages of the book are cream colored flannel. Each page is labeled with the kind of needle that should be put on the page to keep them organized, including pages for sharps, “straw, embroidery, rug, chenille”, double long darning needles, and “carpet sharps and bodkins”. All of the pages have pinked borders. The flannel pages have small moth holes. There are no needles in the book. The black front cover page reads, “ This needle book is furnished with Abel Morrall’s Needles which are made in One Quality Only. The Best. And have over a century’s reputation. “ There is a Cross Fox trademark and Made in England at the bottom of the page.
This is a lovely old needle book that is in great condition for its age. The spine is intact and all of the pages are present and tightly bound.
