This is a 1906 'First Edition' hardcover book 'The Spirit of the Border: A Romance of the Early Settlers in the Ohio Valley' by Zane Grey. Published by A. L. Burt Company Publishers. It is 7 1/2" x 5" with 266 pp and 10 pps of advertising. The cover is blue-gray linen hard boards with orange lettering and a black frontier's man and woman running through the woods on the front. The the pages are completely intact however they are loose from the back cover. The cover has some discoloration and it has minor spine end edge wear. No dust jacket. It has four illustrations by J. Watson Davis and a dedication to Zane Grey's brother. The book is in good condition with some soil and page browning. The pages are unmarked.
