It is "A History, Critical and Biographical, of British authors from the earliest to the present times". It is 10 1/2" x 7" 811 pp. Decorative brown cloth covers with gilt lettering. It is in fair to good condition, however there is some page browning and the spine cover is missing. It has an 1861 inscription.
