For sale here is a HUGE vintage 1950s 60s handmade hand carved wood Oceanic Pacific Islander Easter Island Moai statue sculpture. Purchased from an estate and collected in the late 1950s early 1960s in the South Pacific by the original owners for their collection of tribal art. Entirely hand carved in the style of the ancient sculptures of Easter Island but with additional carvings at back that I would guess are of Maori origin, thus my guess is that a Maori tribesman was the originator of this exceptional sculpture! Measures 16" high by 5" wide by 2-1/4" deep, and weighs just over 5 pounds prior to packing. Unmarked as expected but obviously a hand carved piece of Oceanic tribal art from the South Pacific. I haven't touched this sculpture leaving it exactly as I found it. Excellent vintage condition with just fine light wear and some spotting to the patina as shown - please view the photos, read the description, and ask all questions prior to purchase. I am open to reasonable offers from serious buyers.
