For sale here is a quite large and impressive vintage dated 1950 signed original oil on board modernist painting by Chicago artist Robert A. Waitches (1917-2017) titled "The Flower Picker" and in the period wood frame. An especially nice painting by an obviously accomplished artist and in great all-original condition! Gorgeous original period wood frame! Robert Waitches was an outstanding Chicago artist who often exhibited his work at galleries and exhibitions including at the Art Institute of Chicago. His work is in museum and private collections in Chicago and across the US. Measures 31" by 27" by 1.5" deep at outside edge of the frame. Measures 23.5" by 19.5" at inside of the matting. Signed in the painting near bottom right, "Waitches 1950", and also retains an original gallery or exhibit label at back as shown which also gives the title as "The Flower Picker", and again the year as 1950. Excellent vintage condition with just fine light wear at outer edges of the frame but no damage or loss to the painting as shown - please view the photos, read the description, and ask all questions prior to purchase.
