The Haviland Company was organized in 1853 in Limoges, France, by David Haviland, a New York china importer. After the civil war, his son, Charles, took over management of the firm. The "Silver Anniversary" pattern was produced from 1903 - 1931. A simple, yet elegant pattern of white with gold trim it was one of the most popular and collected patterns in the history of Haviland china. Known as Schleiger #19, it is sometimes referred to as Silver.

This lovely small oval serving platter measures 11 1/2" in length and 8 3/8" in width. The company mark, in green, "Haviland France", circa 1894-1931; the decorator mark, in red, "Haviland & Co. - Limoges", circa 1889-1931. There are no cracks, chips or repairs, some minor gold wear consistent with use and a tiny nick on the gold edge. (See photos). More items of this pattern are in my store
