This set of cast iron bookends features a horse in his stable. They are made of cast iron with a dark bronze finish and date back to the mid 1920's. The horse's have their heads through the stable doors. The heads are 3 dimensional, separate pieces attached to their backings with flathead screws. The bronze finish on this set is dark and has some wear. There are remnants from a sticker on one. This is shown in the 13th picture. These bookends are in good condition overall with no chips, cracks or repairs. The only marking is a number 2 on the backs at the bottom. I do not know the manufacturer for sure. I have seen the polychrome version referred to as Hubley but personally I doubt that attribution. This is a nice harder to find pair. They would be a great treat for a horse lover.
