This elegant antique jelly cabinet was crafted in Normandy, circa 1870. Built in oak wood, the small buffet stands on bun feet over a molded plinth base decorated with geometric motif. The provincial confiturier is fitted with a center raised panel door, decorated with a carved Royal coat of arms of France with three Fleur-de-Lys, and flanked with foliage on both sides. The inside has a central shelf for ultimate storage, and the shaped top is dressed with out-curved and expanded corners. The narrow Louis XIV style buffet is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich bleached patinated finish with wonderful character; it would make a great small vanity sink in a powder room, or use as a storage cabinet in a den or study! Original lock and key included.
