This vintage 6x12 Persian kilim is a panel-woven tribal rug of Shahsavan provenance. Handwoven in wool, it originates from Turkey circa 1950-1960.
Further on the Design:
The bold design prefers polychromatic patterns, and an emphasis on purple hues that’s unique to any Persian tribal rug. The vibrant series of stripes in panel style creates a graphic sense of movement, yet still sits gorgeous with the natural, simple presence of stripes underfoot. It’s a rare piece in its class, and one of a rare mid-century series like few of its kind.
Further on the Condition:
This mid-century Persian flat weave further enjoys good condition for its provenance, and is ready for the floor.
