This vintage 6x16 Persian Kilim is a tribal rug from Meshkin—a small northwestern village known for its fabulous long rugs like this gallery runner. Handwoven in wool, it originates circa 1950-1960.
Further on the Design:
The design prefers polychromatic medallions on a brick red open field, and makes beautiful use of its vibrant accents and finer details. Keen eyes will admire pinks, orangs, and even a light green accent in the many gorgeous traits in this tribal piece. The marriage of time-honored traditional motifs with playful attitude exemplifies R&K Principal Josh Nazmiyal’s favorite Persian rugs, and further attests to their vast applications today.
Further on the Condition:
This vintage Northwest Persian Kilim further enjoys good condition for its age, and is ready for the floor.
