A fine and impressive antique George V English sterling silver and enamel dressing table hand mirror; an addition to our enamel and silverware collection
Description
This fine antique George V sterling silver hand mirror has a shaped form with rounded corners to a plain tapering handle.
The reverse surface of the mirror is embellished with an impressive hot enamel panel depicting a ship sailing between colourful floral and foliate enveloped rock formations to the foreground, with a town scene and mountain to the backdrop, signed with the initials 'DMC'.
The rounded sides, anterior surface and handle of this impressive mirror are plain and unembellished.
The mirror retains its original shaped bevelled glass.
Condition
This antique hand mirror is a very good gauge of silver, excellent quality and in excellent condition.
The antique enamel hand mirror has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.
The glass is in excellent condition with no presence of black marks but bearing a slight grained effect in keeping with age. This does not detract from the overall aesthetic appearance.
The enamel is in perfect condition.
Full hallmarks struck to the rim are very clear; the maker's mark has wear in keeping with age and location, but remains legible.
Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of antique silverware.
