An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Russian silver gilt and polychrome cloisonné enamel napkin ring; an addition to our Russian silverware collection.
This exceptional antique Russian silver gilt napkin ring has a cylindrical form.
The exterior surface of the napkin ring is ornamented with cloisonné stylised leaf and geometric designs accented with central floral motifs, all using green, white, red and blue polychrome enamel.
The interior of this Russian enamel napkin ring bears the later engraved inscription 'Merry Christmas Darling! 1960'.
Both the upper and lower rims of the napkin ring are encircled with plain applied silver moulded borders.
The surface of this exceptional enamel napkin ring retains the original gilding.

Silver quality/purity mark: 84 (84 zolotniks*)
Kokoshnik mark: Δ, Delta (Moscow**)
* 84 zolotniki is equivalent to 875/1000 or .875 standard silver.
** This variation of the Kokoshnik mark was used from 1908-1926, determining the date of this piece as circa 1915.
Condition
This antique Russian enamel napkin ring is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition. The enamel is in perfect condition. Russian hallmarks struck to the surface of the rim are all very clear. This can be seen in image 8.
