An exceptional, fine and impressive pair of antique German cast silver candlesticks; an addition to our ornamental silverware collection
These impressive antique German cast silver candlesticks have a panelled, shaped form.
The plain faceted capitals are encircled with applied moulded girdles and bands of tooled decoration.
The waisted section of each column features tiered knops to the upper and lower portions.
The columns of these 18th century silver candlesticks surmount plain circular sunken wells and are supported by square shaped bases accented with incurved corners.
These impressive antique candlesticks do not have weighted bases and bear the contemporary scratch date '1730' and initials 'D.S.G.L.S' to the underside.
The hallmarks struck to the rim of each foot consists of:

City mark: Augsburg (pyr/pine cone in pot)
