This is a signed Magda i Andrzej Nowakowscy (1938 - 2008) Warszawa figurative art figure dating to the 1960's - 1970's. It is designed as a whimsical sailor with one hand holding a ship telescope and the other on the ship wheel. Much of the piece is brass metal with some copper. The heavy figurine is connected to a cork with a bottom brass stand. There is light patina but in overall very good condition. This designer was known for his intricate whimsical chess sets. This is a rare and wonderful piece of his work.
