Gosh, this item is SALE PENDING
A fine example of a Pennsylvania Dutch polychrome fraktur mounted on a green background under glass, in a simple oak wooden frame with molded gilt wooden inset. The name fraktur came to mean the folk art form as well as the letter style that is central to it. Pennsylvania Germans brought the use of fraktur on formal documents with them to the New World. The fraktur is dated 1799 and is in good overall condition, with noticeable edge losses, creases, staining visible on the upper third of the document, other imperfections and wear commensurate with age and use. Dimensions: Approximately 13 ½” H x 16 ½” W; actual; 20 ½” H x 24 ½” W, framed. Ref: 8
