Early D. W. True & Co. Advertising Coffee Tin or Can Paper Label - image 1 of 15

This is a wonderful old D. W. True & Co. advertising coffee tin. It is a tall can with a paper label. The paper label has the company name, D. W. True & Co. Portland, Maine, on two sides. The other two sides are labeled “5 lbs. Net Weight Blended Java Coffee”. D.W. True & Co. were wholesaler grocers at 217-219 Commercial St., Portland, Maine from 1859 through 1911. This coffee tin dates to the early 1900’s.
There is oxidation on the lid and bottom. The lid is very tight and we have not tried to remove it from the tin. The paper label has several losses. The label is ripped in places and has faded and discolored with age.

It measures approximately 6 1/4" in width and 10" high to the top of the lid.

Inv. Loc. PB White & Yellow PC Container 1
