Offered here is an Alpaca Silver Hollow Ware Wax Seal Stamp dating to the 1890’s. Alpaca silver is a composite of copper, nickel and zinc. It measures 3 1/8 inches long with a 1 inch oval stamp at end. The bulbous hexagonal shape narrows down into a flower petal-like design at end where oval stamp is attached. This is one continuous piece. The seal is engraved with the initials “A.A” Around the rim edge is a border of dots. Alpaca is stamped into the top edge of the stamp. Wax Seals were popular in the Art Nouveau period. Sales tax for all states that require it must be added and is calculated on purchase price including shipping and handling.
