19th century Cabinet photograph of a dashing & handsome African-American gentleman in military or fraternal attire? He has an unusual looking belt buckle that appears to be a badge of sorts and all the accouterments of military styled “dress blues” This fine image came from the African-American Clark family archive I will be listing in my shop over the next few days and weeks. This blue chip family had teachers, leaders and business Entrepreneurs in the deep- south during the Jim Crow era. Please take a moment to check out the many historically important images, manuscripts and ephemera from this family and their descendants as I will be listing throughout the coming days and weeks.
