This is a real classic from the 1950s. Companies would bottle syrups in figural bottles. Then, mothers would add water and make a sweet drink for there children. To make the syrup more appealing to kids to drink more the bottle would then convert to a bank. So, the more the kids drank the sooner they got their bank. Nothing like good American marketing. This bottle is in the shape of an elephant and had the original lid with a slot. The slot in the lid is in good vintage condition with some lost paint from little kids putting the pennies into the bank. The glass is in good condition with no chips or cracks. Take a moment and review the pictures. Remember you can zoom in if you would like a closer look. The bank stands a little over 7 inches and is the perfect size for display. It would look especially nice filled with vintage pennies!
Thanks for visiting my shop and please do come back again. Antique and vintage items from the heart of Pennsylvania are added most days.
