Fabulous Limoges set of eight individual berry bowls, hand painted with ripe strawberries. Each bowl has two medallion handles painted with a single strawberry and heavily scalloped and gilded rims. Each bowl is signed by Limoges studio artist, Sem, and all are marked with the factory and decorating studio marks. They measure 6" in diameter and 6 1/4" across the medallion handles. All eight bowls are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or wear to the heavy gold. They are pristine. Since the master bowl is missing, these smaller bowls look as if they were packed away many years ago and would be wonderful to serve strawberry shortcake or ice cream. Factory marked Limoges France with a star, used by Coiffe from 1891 until 1914, and studio marked Flambeau Limoges France Hand Painted, used by Flambeau China from the 1890's until the early 1900's.
