Outstanding Art Deco syrup pitcher, lid, and underplate, studio hand painted with pink roses, white daises, peach, pink, and purple pholx, and very heavy and extensive gold, including gold flowers, leaves, and stems. The artist has painted narrow, willowy leaves on the lid, around the syrup pitcher, and all around the underplate, and the rim, spout, handle, and finial are all painted gold, with a gold rim around the underplate and a gold band around the base of the pitcher. The pitcher stands 4 1/2" tall on its underplate and the underplate is 6" in diameter. Signed by the studio artist, Chandon, and marked Z.S. & Co. Bavaria, used by Zeh, Scherzer & Co. This delightful syrup is one of the very best examples I have found, superbly painted and in absolutely pristine condition with no chips or cracks, and no wear to the elaborate gold, a cabinet piece, no doubt, all of these years.
