A very desirable little creamware child's mug from Regency England. This finely potted creamware bodied mug with a luster and pearlware glaze was produced in England during the 1810 to 1820 period.

The mug features a puce transfer printed design depicting a mother duck and her two ducklings on their maiden voyage along the river. The scene is titled below ‘A Mother’s Gift’ and would have been given by a mother to her lucky child for good work. What a charming piece of social history. The mug also features a wonderful pink lustre border to the interior and exterior.

This would make the perfect gift! In particularly anyone who loves birds or early English ceramics. Miniature mugs like these are highly collectible.

Measuring: Width including handle 3 inch (7.5 cm) by height 2 3/8 inch (6 cm).

Condition: A few very old surface level grazes to top rim and some glaze imperfection at the top of handle from the manufacturing process. A very old stable vertical hairline. A small old graze to foot rim. Some old water discoloring from dish washing over the centuries.
