RARE 19th Century SPODE Childs Mug Cat And Dog Kitten and Puppy Children’s Nursery Ware Blue Color C 1858 - image 1 of 12

We are experienced collectors of 19th century children’s nursery ware but we have never seen a little mug like this!

This is an incredible little mug! The glazed earthenware mug was produced in England during the 19th century, circa 1860 by Spode porcelain. The mug is made from a solid blue body; this is not something we have ever seen before.

The mug features a very crisp monochrome transfer printed design depicting a cat and dog. The perfect subject matter. The mug was likely produced in small numbers we even fewer surviving examples.

This is the perfect item for anyone who collects early nursery ware or ceramics more widely, and important piece of children’s nursery ware. A unique opportunity to own such a decorative little mug.

Measuring: Width including handle 3.5 inch (9 cm) by height 2 5/8 inch (6.5 cm).

Condition: Stable ‘y’ shape hairline to base and small old chip to foot rim.
